　　　最近收购以安全著称的沃尔沃（Volvo）的中国汽车制造商吉利（Geely）在南美的一项碰撞测试中获得零分。
　　Latin NCAP是最新推出的汽车测试，其评估标准与欧洲New Car Assessment Program和澳洲测试方法一致。它对汽车经碰撞后的变形情况打分，最高为五星，而吉利CK已绝对的变形获得零分。
　　吉利预计将在不久后登陆澳洲市场，抛开安全问题不提，它的售价非常实惠。Latin NCAP的测试显示，吉利CK无法给驾驶者提供充分的身体保护，胸部保护尤其不足。南美出售的吉利CK并沒有安装安全气囊，就算安装了，也无法保障前排乘客遭遇车祸时的安全。Latin NCAP批评吉利CK误导消费者车上安装有安全气囊。
　　这一糟糕的安全评级可能给沃尔沃带去尴尬。NCAP的报告还显示，碰撞时车身外壳严重变形，档风玻璃的支柱断裂，转向柱和踏板都走位。“它的车身外壳无法承受任何剧烈的碰撞。”这项测试模拟普通交通事故，时速64公里与迎面而行的汽车相撞，并受临近汽车挤压。
　　Latin NCAP的测试对吉利CK的安全性能提出质疑，但是发展中国家与发达国家所售车款在安全性能上存在一定的差别。比如Peugeot 207在澳洲获得5星安全评级，而在NCAP测试中仅得两星，丰田花冠（Toyota Corolla）和大众高尔夫（Volkswagen Golf）在澳洲的评级均是5星，而在NCAP仅得到3星。汽车制造商忽略在贫穷国家所销售的产品，这点已引起广泛的指责。
　　吉利即将在澳洲推出两款车型：MK和Panda，它们由西澳进口商引进，如果市场反响热烈，或将在澳洲东部沿海城市销售。这两款车型在中国NCAP汽车碰撞测试中均获得五星评级。Mk为乘客和司机安装了前置安全气囊，但没有防止汽车打滑事故的潜在救生稳定控制系统。Panda安装有前置、侧面和车门胸部安全气囊，并设有稳定控制系统。
　　目前在澳洲销售的唯一中国汽车品牌长城汽车X240软越野车获得4星安全评级，它仅有两个前置安全气囊，没有电子稳定控制装置。
