2010年12月7日，中国北京—托福考试的主办机构美国教育考试服务中心（ETS）今天宣布将连续第二年在中国大陆地区实施托福奖学金项目，以表彰取得优异学术成绩的托福考生。2011年托福奖学金项目将提供大约82,500美元奖金，比2010年的奖励额度高出20,000多美元。
2011年的托福奖学金共设有48个表彰名额，包括三份5,000 美元（约合34,000元人民币）一等奖学金和45份1,500美元（约合10,000元人民币）的二等奖学金。这些奖金将用于奖励学习成绩优秀并计划于2011年赴英国、加拿大和美国等国家求学的中国学生。托福奖学金获奖者名单将于2011年6月公布。
托福全球品牌总监唐晓非表示：“我们非常高兴连续第二年在中国实施托福奖学金项目以表彰那些取得优异学术成绩的托福考生。ETS可以籍此机会展示我们在中国推动英语语言学习及表彰优秀中国学生的一贯承诺。ETS致力于在全世界提高教育质量和公平性，帮助学生实现自己的梦想正是我们履行该使命的根本所在。”
这48份奖学金将直接发放到获奖者准备就读的海外高校。托福奖学金申请者须符合下列条件：须为目前居住在中国境内；将于2011年赴中国大陆以外地区攻读本科或研究生学位；须获得有效的托福成绩；国内平均学习成绩按百分制计须达到或超过80分；须提交一份填写完整的申请表并随表附上一篇作文和正式成绩单。完整的申请文件须于2011年4月15日前寄出（以邮戳为准）。
